Kean University Housing Policies & Guidelines
All Participants of a Licensed Kean University Overnight Conferences are considered subject to Kean University Housing policies and guidelines, which can be accessed at the following internet address: http://www.kean.edu/offices/rss/policies/handbook.
The Residential Student Services Handbook includes, but is not limited to, the following policies and guidelines:
- Accessing the Buildings: Participants are issued Kean University Conference ID and must present their assigned Kean University Conference ID each time they are entering the building.
- Visitors: No visitors unless approved by the program director. If approved, all visitors must be escorted by their host and must leave a valid state photo ID with the security desk upon entering the building. All guests are expected to abide by Kean University policies and procedures. Resident hosts are responsible for the actions of their resident visitors/guests. They are subject to disciplinary action if their resident visitors/guests violate University policies and/or procedures, including termination of LICENSE and forfeiture of fee. The University reserves the right to deny violators visitation privileges on a permanent basis. These individuals will be viewed as trespassers and are subject to arrest.

- Lost Keys: The replacement cost for a lost key is $100.00. A temporary key will be issued while the lock change is completed within 24 business hours.
- Lost IDs: The replacement cost for lost ID’s is $100.00.
- Mail Distribution: Mail is only distributed Monday to Thursday. If mail is expected the LICENSE must work with Material Services to retrieve the mail. Material Services is located in the Maintence Building. Please use the following when sending mail during summer camps/conference.

- Housing Limited to Program Participants: Kean University only offers housing to Licensed Kean University Overnight Conference participants. The University cannot accommodate family housing requests, including spouses, partners and children not attending the program/event.
- Prohibited Items: A complete list of prohibited items is listed in the Residential Student Services Handbook available at http://www.kean.edu/offices/rss/policies/handbook, which includes, but is not limited to, the following items prohibited in UNIVERSITY facilities, including residential halls:
- Alcohol
- Drugs
- Pets
- Candles and/or incense
- Electrical heating devices
- Extension cords or outlets adapters
- Failure to adhere to this policy shall result in the termination of LICENSE and forfeiture of fee.
- Fire Alarms: Alarms are scheduled within 24 hours of a conference arriving on campus. Evacuation procedures are located behind the entrance door. When a fire alarm sounds, you must evacuated the building immediately through the fire exit doors (located in both right and left stairways).
- Office Hours: Each Residence Hall has a community center open from 8:30a.m. to 5:30p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. to assist you with any questions.
