Asamblea Code of Conduct

Purpose

The NDLON Events Code of Conduct purpose is to create an inclusive, respectful and safe environment for all our participants. We expect everyone to uphold these commitments in order to strengthen our relationships and our movement, and enable everyone to fully participate.

Conduct: Standards and Values

  1. I will respect all participants’ rights, and I will contribute to the community’s environment by treating everyone with mutual respect, integrity, dignity, consideration and non-discrimination:
    • Refraining from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behavior and speech.
    • Arrive on time and stay mentally & physically present – silence or turn off phones.
    • Listen for understanding, with open minds and hearts.
    • Challenge ideas, not people, without blame, judgment, silencing or marginalizing others.
    • Avoid using the event to promote religious or political party agendas.
    • Participate constructively by asking questions, speaking honestly, sharing your unique perspectives, contributing to solutions, avoiding repetition or interruption, and leaving space for others to talk.
  2. I will address conflicts and disagreements respectfully and seek assistance from an NDLON staff member when necessary. Treat all people with respect and dignity and challenge any form of harassment, discrimination, intimidation, exploitation or abuse. I will not engage in any conduct prohibited by NDLON Events Code of Conduct.
    • Violence, threats of violence or violent language directed against another person.
    • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
    • Personal insults, particularly those related to gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or disability.
  3. NDLON Events are “Dry” Events (Alcohol free); I will contribute to a safe environment by not drinking alcohol during the event or while in event housing.
